Scooter Lee Interview

Can you get sore muscles from listening to a CD?? Check out Scooter Lee's new album, "Would You Consider…" It's almost (I said ALMOST) left me speechless!! This CD is so full of energy, you don't have time to catch your breath! And you certainly can't listen to it without dancin' (or at least doin' the "easy-chair boogie)!!! It’s different from most country music I've listened to lately. I was kinda distracted, at first, because inside the cover, we are given all the dance steps to each song. I was trying to listen to the music, read the dance steps, and then DO them! BUT…pretty soon, it was impossible to concentrate on anything but the music. Pure fun! I'd say she reminds me of someone, but I wouldn't know who it is! Well, there was ONE song, "I Still Believe" (D.Johnson)...and it did remind me a little of Tina Turner… The husky voice, the way she "moves" with the music… I could see it, just like I was there! And what a beautiful and moving song! Each word, each thought, so true and so loving.

The instrumentals are super, and the musicians are clearly enjoying the session. Scooter loves what she's doin' here, and it comes through to the listener. I have to say that one of my favorites was "J'ai du Boogie"… I've always liked that Cajun style, and the language is so much fun! Then there's "Jam up and Jelly Tight" (T. Roe, F.Weller). Now THAT’S a cool song! AND she manages to include a couple of standards, like "I Never Promised You A Rose Garden" (J.South). She puts her own spin on it, though, and even includes a special version especially for dancin'. I guess if I had to put it all in a sentence or two, I'd say that Scooter Lee has done what many, MANY other artists have failed to do. She's made us listen AND laugh…oh, and dance, of course! She even managed to bring some tears, too. Now, how'd she DO that? I'd be remiss not to let you know that Scooter Lee is HUGE throughout Europe, and is making headlines there all the time. You can't turn on country radio, without hearing her songs! So, why…oh why, are we missing out on her great talent over here??? YOU tell ME. I know she's planning a world wide tour next year, and part of it will be in the good ol' USA. Let's not miss it, fans!
